Project Description:
This fireplace renovation creates a clean, contemporary feature wall where structure, fire safety, and refined finishes come together to form a striking focal point in the room. Materials and detailing were selected to handle heat safely while showcasing porcelain tile or stone in a crisp, architectural composition.​

Framing & Fire‑Rated Backing
A new frame was built around the fireplace using suitable fire‑rated components and properly spaced studs, engineered to support finish materials, TV mounting, and any recesses or shelving. Fire‑resistant cement board was installed as the primary substrate, with secure fastening, correct joint gaps, and taped, mortared transitions to provide a stable, heat‑tolerant base.​

Tile/Stone Cladding & Detailing
Porcelain tile or natural stone was laid over the cement board with precise cutting, leveling, and alignment to achieve a seamless surround that is both durable and visually refined. Grouting, joint treatments, trims, and silicone sealing were completed carefully at all edges and corners, followed by a full clean and inspection of clearances and finish quality to ensure a safe, long‑lasting fireplace feature.​
